Wisconsin Library’s Hilarious “Trust Fall” Video Wins the Internet
If you think libraries are dusty and quiet, think again. The New Berlin Public Library in Wisconsin just went viral after posting a lighthearted Instagram reel, according to jsonlline.com. In the video, a staffer attempts a classic “trust fall”, only to be hilariously abandoned by the person meant to catch her. Cue a deadpan line:
You can’t trust everybody, but you can trust the New Berlin Public Library … to give you access, for free, to hundreds of books, great programming and resources.
The post has since attracted over 500,000 likes and thousands of comments.

What makes this clip more than just a funny flub? It’s clever branding. Rather than bragging about programs or events, they let humor do the work. The contrast between “don’t trust everybody” and “but trust us” makes the message stick — especially online.
Plus, it taps into something deeper: people love to see institutions (especially ones not known for viral content) show personality.
