Illinois Jobs That Are Way More Stressful Than People Realize
When we think about stressful jobs, we usually picture the obvious ones.
Doctors. Police officers. Firefighters. Teachers. Jobs where one mistake can have some pretty serious consequences.
But there are plenty of jobs in Illinois that come with a surprising amount of pressure that we don't always think about.
Some of these jobs might look pretty normal from the outside. You show up, do your job, and go home. But when you really think about all the stuff people have to deal with every day, you realize there can be a lot more pressure involved than you'd expect.
And that's what got me thinking about the jobs that deserve a little more appreciation.
Because sometimes the stress isn't necessarily about life-or-death situations. It can be dealing with hundreds of people, making decisions on the spot, being responsible for other people's money, keeping everything running when something goes wrong, or simply having to stay "on" all day long.
That last one is me most days.
Illinois Jobs That Are Way More Stressful Than People Realize
Here are some Illinois jobs that I think are way more stressful than people realize:
- Teachers
- Restaurant servers
- Bartenders
- Cashiers
- Daycare workers
- Dispatchers
- Pharmacists, Postal workers
- School bus drivers
- Real Estate Agents
- Flight attendants
- Veterinary workers
- Hair stylists
- Event Planners
There are probably people reading this like, "How did you leave out MY job?" What is it that you do? Tell me what's so pressuring about it!
Again, some of the most stressful jobs aren't the ones that immediately come to mind.
