Forget making the food pilgrimage to Wisconsin just to try one burger; this list gives us two reasons to plan a trip.

Lovefood's Greatest Cheeseburgers in Every American State is chock full of some of the most delicious-looking burgers I have ever seen.

As I flipped through mouthwatering pic after mouthwatering pic, I finally landed on Wisconsin's offering.

Not One, But Two Wisconsin Burgers Among America's Greatest Burgers

I fully expected to see Wisconsin shorted to only one mention because it appears Lovefood was really concentrating on some of the larger states like New York, California, Texas, and even Illinois to fill out their list.

Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised and even more stunned when I realized neither of the two Wisconsin burger joints represented on the list isn't specifically in Milwaukee.

The Juicy Lucy at 11:11 Burgers & Beignets in Fond Du Lac

First up, Lovefood mentioned the Juicy Lucy at 11:11 Burgers & Beignets in Fond Du Lac as one of America's "Greatest Burgers."

Here's why:

An unconventional cheeseburger, the Juicy Lucy looks like a regular hamburger from the outside, but when you bite into the patty, a mix of molten Cheddar and American cheese comes oozing out. Plus, at local joint 11:11, orders are totally customizable, so you can add jalapeños, extra cheese (American, Cheddar, pepper Jack, and provolone), maple bacon, and salad, or swap your regular bun for a pretzel one.

One look shows me everything I need to know about the Juicy Lucy at 11:11 Burgers and Beignets at 718 West Johnson Street.

The KRK Burger at Kopp's Frozen Custard in Glendale

Next up is the KRK Burger at Kopp's Frozen Custard at 5373 North Port Washington Road in Glendale.

Kopp's has been serving fast food to the good folk of Glendale since 1950, and it's still going strong today. The old-school frozen custard is a major part of the appeal, but the jumbo burgers are arguably even better.

A burger that took 67 years to create and is "definitely worth the wait" is a burger jammed with cheese, bacon, tomatoes, pickles, onions, mayo, ketchup, onion, and topped with spicy mayo.

One look and I was sold on this one, too.

I guess there's a reason Wisconsin gets two mentions on Lovefood's list. These two burgers deserve the pub.

Have you had one, both, or none of these? While you plan your route, check out the list of America's top burger chains.
