A Milwaukee couple turned their wedding reception into a Brewers World Series watch party, complete with a former player even showing up.

As a Chicago Cubs fan, this one makes me cringe a little.

Milwaukee Brewers One Win Away From World Series Championship

There are a couple of reasons, really. For starters, the Brewers are one win away from winning the World Series. As in, they could actually do it tonight.

Game 4 starts at 7 p.m., and a Milwaukee win would give the Brewers their first World Series championship.

Milwaukee Couple Turns Wedding Into Brewers Watch Party

Sam and Emily Pankow got married Sunday, having booked their venue long before they knew the Brewers would be playing in the World Series. As luck would have it, their reception landed on Game 2 against Tampa Bay.

So, as any good Brewers fan would do, they set up a large-screen TV on the dance floor so guests could watch the game. The guests even wore Brewers jerseys to the reception, and Corey Knebel, a former pitcher for the team, made a surprise appearance.

Former Brewers Pitcher Makes Surprise Wedding Appearance

The Brewers connection makes sense as Emily worked for the team for six seasons and also participated in the Sausage Races between innings.

The Brewers won Game 2, then Game 3 last night and are one game away from championship glory.

As for the happy couple, they changed their honeymoon plans to go to Game 5 in Tampa should it get that far. At this rate, they could probably change those honeymoon plans back.
