Video: A Big Black Bear Just Visited an Illinois Senior Center

I know that many senior centers do great work in providing entertainment for their residents. Many at an Illinois senior center definitely got a thrill this week as a big black bear got up-close-and-personal in Belleville, Illinois.

The Benedictine Living Community-At The Shrine in Belleville, Illinois shared this wild video on their Facebook page of a big bear they saw looking in their windows on Tuesday, August 6, 2024.

Because of Belleville's proximity to the St. Louis, Missouri area, it's believed that this big bear could have somehow made it across the river from just south of the city to make his/her appearance at the senior center in Belleville.

This bear's visit got a little tense as he was trying to open the doors which would not have ended well.

According to the latest update on the Belleville, Illinois senior center's Facebook page, this curious bear was able to find his way out of the area without endangering himself or any of the residents.
