How did Forbes come up with this new top 400 world's richest for 2023?

Their methodology is interesting as they say they have compiled "all types of assets: stakes in public and private companies, real estate, art, yachts, planes, ranches, vineyards, jewelry, car collections and more".

With all the numbers crunched, 5 Missouri residents made the Forbes top 400. Move aside, gentlemen. Number one is a lady. A very very wealthy lady.

If you can't read the smaller print of the graphic, Pauline MacMillan Keinath is the richest Missourian coming in at #98 in the world with an estimated net worth of $8.8 billion. Yes, that's "billion" with a "B". Former #1 Missouri baron is John Morris of Bass Pro Shops fame who still is doing just fine with a net worth of $8 billion. For the record, John seems like a really down-to-earth fellow. I haven't met him unfortunately, but have seen many interviews and he seems like his money hasn't changed him one bit.

David Steward, Jim Kavanaugh and Rodger Riney and family round out the other Missouri people to make this haughty list of big bucks.

As far as the rest of the world goes, Mr. Twitter X Elon Musk is the world's richest with an estimated $251 billion to his name with Amazon man Jeff Bezos #2 at $161 billion. How do these people afford rent living on a pittance like that?
