Decaying Midwest is one of the more prominent urban exploration YouTube channels in Illinois and Missouri. They specialize in investigations of forgotten places. Few have been more overlooked in the past 11 years than what used to be a Lutheran Church in Chicago, Illinois. It first opened 100 years ago before being abandoned in 2012.

They say that this formerly Lutheran church in Chicago, Illinois was abandoned in 2012 while the city intervened in 2015 to make sure the premises were not inhabited declaring the building "hazardous" and not safe for occupying.
