Weirdest Small Town in America is Illinois Place Built for Giants
If you are of the belief that size matters, boy do I have the Illinois town for you. It's considered one of the weirdest small towns in America as it holds many world records for giant things.
If you look at Ranker's list of weirdest small towns in America, you will find this Illinois community. It's the place they call "the town of large objects", but that's not technically correct. Casey, Illinois is actually the world record holder of many of the largest objects according to the Guinness Book of World Records.
Largest mailbox? Casey, Illinois owns that one.
What about a mammoth wind chime? Casey, Illinois has the biggest.
Want to sit in the world's largest rocking chair? You can do that there.
Casey, Illinois also has the world's largest knitting needle and clogs.
Several years ago, the Guinness Book of World Records actually made a trip to Casey, Illinois to present them with multiple certificates. Resident Jim Bolin is the reason why. He is the creator of many giant things that have put his Illinois town on the world map.
That's why the Casey, Illinois official website is called "Big Things, Small Town". They are that and more. You can now add "Weirdest Small Town in America" to that list, too.
