Yelp claims Illinois has one of the Top 10 Tattoo Shops in the US

IF (and that is a big if) you are going to get a tattoo, why not have one of the best of the best in the US do the tattoo for you? Here is the place Yelp claims is not only the best tattoo shop in Illinois, but one of the ten best in the entire US...

According to Yelp's list of the 50 Tattoo Shops that have Mastered the Art of Ink, Wild Wind Tattoo in Chicago, Illinois is the 6th best tattoo shop in the US. Wild Wind Tattoo finishes behind only a tattoo shop in Los Angeles, one in Vegas, and then one in Hawaii, Washington, and Florida, to claim the 6th spot on the list. But it's not the only tattoo shop from Illinois in the top 50, a shop called Electric Tattoo Parlor in Carpentersville (a Suburb of Chicago) lands at 21st on the list. Tattoo?

I don't have a tattoo, I don't plan on getting a tattoo, and so I have no real way of knowing if these rankings are accurate or not. From what I have heard from friends with tattoos it is more about the artist and less about the shop itself, and that seems to make sense. Would you trust a local small-town tattoo shop, or are you only trusting shops that make a list like this from Yelp?
