Illinois B&B A Step Back in Time to 1880 with Elegance & Romance
Constructed in the 1880s for Ireland immigrants the grand, almost hidden, Illinois B&B is the perfect place for a couple to get away and relax for the weekend.
Take a step back in time to a home (now used as a Bed & Breakfast) built with the timeless elegance of Italianate architecture. The Cloran Mansion located in Galena is sort of a hidden gem in the small town. The home was once owned by John and Ann Cloaran who immigrated from Ireland in the 1840s and built this beautiful home. Now the home is operated as a Bed & Breakfast where visitors can experience the beauty of Italianate architecture.
After years of having different owners in the early 1980s, it was officially bought and converted into the B&B. The current owners are excited to continue the tradition of having so many visitors come to Galena and stay in their beautiful B&B.
The 1.5 acres of grounds offer plenty of opportunity to unwind and enjoy. A screened-in gazebo, a 1,600 gallon pond with waterfall, gardens, a swing for two, and a patio with fire pit all offer the opportunity to relax away from the hustle and bustle of downtown.
There are themed bedrooms to stay in and a town to enjoy. How many times does Galena end up on a "best of" list? Seems like all the time, well there is a reason. It truly is a magical historic place to visit and now you know about a hidden gem in the town to stay at.
