Improvements For Illinois’ #1 Tourist Attraction & Top 10 In U.S.
Improvements are coming for the number one tourist attraction in Illinois and top ten in the United States.
What Is The Number One Tourist Attraction In Illinois
There are so many amazing things to see and do in Chicago including Navy Pier and Wrigley Field. Then expand it to Illinois, so add in Starved Rock State Park and the Lincoln sites.
Go even further to include all of the Midwest with the Indiana State Dunes and Upper Penisula of Michigan. To top it off, think about the whole United States which has places like the Grand Canyon and Empire State Building.
What's The Number One Tourist Attraction In Illinois
That was just naming a couple of places in each category. There are thousands of more choices. The competition is fierce. The number one tourist attraction in Illinois is Millennium Park. It is also tops in the Midwest. It makes the top ten in the United States. A couple of years ago, they had almost 13 million visitors. That is pretty impressive.
According to chicago.curbed.com,
"Millennium Park has officially unseated Navy Pier as the most popular tourist attraction in Illinois, and subsequently in the Midwest."
"Millennium Park has broken into the top 10 most visited attractions in the country."
Visiting Millennium Park In Chicago
I have been to Millennium Park in Chicago a few times over the years. It is a really cool place to visit. Some of the highlights include "The Bean," "Crown Fountain," "Lurie Garden," "Jay Pritzker Pavilion," and so much more. For info about Millennium Park, HERE.
Millennium Park Is Missing Something
On my adventures to Millennium Park in Chicago, I did notice one thing that could be improved. That is more choices to purchase food and beverages. I remember there was one restaurant and that was it. Adding more would be great.
According to chicago.suntimes.com,
"Visitors to Millennium Park — the Midwest’s No. 1 tourist attraction — will have more food and beverage choices, thanks to a $2.5 million investment that will reopen and re-brand the clout-heavy Park Grill restaurant."
More choices will include a Mexican cafe, coffee bar, tearoom, and two new kiosks. That will make eating down there so much better.
