Illinois Was Just Ranked as One of The Least Hard Working States

Working hard or hardly working?

With the entire world facing the COVID-19 pandemic, it's not the worst thing in the world to cut yourself some slack. Maybe take an extra-long lunch break, or wear your favorite PJ pants all day.

A new study just ranked each state by how hard they work. Spoiler alert - Illinois didn't rank too high on the list. We actually landed in a pretty low spot. But like I said, global pandemic, it's fine if you're taking it easy.

So how did Wallethub rank the states?

To determine where Americans work the hardest, WalletHub compared the 50 states across 10 key indicators. They range from average workweek hours to share of workers with multiple jobs to annual volunteer hours per resident.

So, who made the top ten? AKA the hardest working states.

2. North Dakota
3. Nebraska
4. South Dakota
5. Texas
6. Wyoming
7. Oklahoma
8. Virginia
9. New Hampshire
10. Kansas

Here are the least hardest-working states.

Hey, at least we didn't come in dead last. That's a plus I guess.

We did however rank super low when it came to volunteer hours per state.

Looks like it's time to start spending more of our time volunteering. We also apparently need to step up our work game and work a little harder.
