Say what you will about the state of Illinois, but we do know how to do the holiday season right.

Illinois may have its share of problems that need to be addressed, but our commitment to decorating, celebrating, and fully embracing the holiday season here in Northern Illinois is definitely not one of those problems.

In the interests of fairness, I should point out that two Northern Illinois towns make the list of most Christmassy places in the United States, not just one. I'm pretty sure that even more Illinois towns could be added to the list, but for now we're going to focus on the one Northern Illinois town that made the Top 50 list.

Although Naperville Does Make The Mixbook List, They Rank At #58 Overall While Galena Comes In At Number 49

WGNTV.com:

Galena in northwest Illinois cracks the top 50 due, in part, to the town’s preserved history, draped with holiday lights and decorations. The town’s Main Street is also known for holiday shopping. The “Night of the Luminaria” is also one of the town’s most Christmas-hyped events.
