One of the best record stores in the United States calls Illinois home.

I Have Never Been To A Record Store I Didn't Like

My love of record stores started at a young age. My uncle was a big fan of music. He would buy new albums and go to concerts with my dad all the time. I remember going to visit him and hearing lots of cool bands.

My first job was as a newspaper delivery boy in my neighborhood. When I got my first paycheck, I asked my dad to take me to the mall so I could purchase my very first record. It was Ozzy "Blizzard of Ozz" on vinyl.

After that, I was hooked. I saved all my earnings to buy more music. Sometimes, I would skip lunch at school to have extra money for albums. Ever since then, I am always on the lookout for cool new places to pick up records.

Illinois Is Home To Many Amazing Record Stores

Fans of music in Illinois are really lucky because there are many amazing record stores in our state, especially in Rockford. Here in the Forest City, we have Culture Shock, Toad Hall, and CD Source. I am a big fan of all three. Of course, there are plenty in and around Chicago. My favorite there is Rolling Stones Records in Norridge.

"Still hosting intimate artist shows, signings from bands, and signed prints/albums."

"It’s a safe bet that Reckless, now in their 32nd year, will be worth your time, whether you’re looking for crates and crates and crates of records."
