Illinois has already taken a lot of heat for the FOID (Firearms Owners Identification Card) license needed to own a gun. Many state that the waiting periods are too long and that the whole thing is unnecessary. It might be even harder to get your FOID card if this new bill is passed.

Rep. Jennifer Gong-Gershowitz, D-Glenview, has proposed a bill that would make it mandatory to carry at least $1 million for accidental injuries caused by firearms, according to The Center Square.

The bill would allow Illinois State Police to not only require annual proof but also suspend a person's card if they are not able to provide proof of coverage. The measure has yet to be assigned to a committee, meaning a vote is still some time away, but do you think gun owners should have to carry liability insurance?
