Illinois Grandmother Thwarts Kidnapping With Her Gun

This pistol-packing grandmother's patience was rewarded and she escaped this kidnapping with only a cut to her arm. 

Diane McIntire thought she was going to the Southpark Mall to buy some vitamins when a man suddenly appeared at her door with a knife.

WGN - It was a large butcher knife, I did not even see it at first, that's how quickly he was in my space. i kicked him in his chest, pushed him back, I felt the knife cut right below my elbow.

After he eventually got into the car he apologized for cutting her but also said that he realized that she could now identify him and that it was a kidnapping.  After that he had her pull into a parking lot and that's when things got interesting.

I don't want to spoil the end of the story because it's so much better hearing her tell it.

Suffice to say she's alright and the other guy is behind bars. It's always nice to hear a story when guns provided safety without ever being shot.
