The big uptick in vehicle theft is really putting a strain on local law enforcement, so the city os even considering suing both automakers.

Hyundai and Kia dealerships around Milwaukee are even offering owners of their vehicles free steering wheel locks. Take that as a hint to go get yourself one before you take your next trip to Milwaukee.

According to wisn.com, Milwaukee is likely to surpass 10,000 vehicle thefts in 2021. Over two-thirds of that number are just Hyundais and Kias.

The other very disturbing fact is that more than half of the vehicle thefts are being committed by suspects aged 16 and under. The story from WISN also shared another peculiar facts about all these thefts. Milwaukee is basically the ONLY city where Hyundais and Kias are being stolen so often. Apparently in Denver, four of the top five models stolen are either Kias or Hyundais.
