The COVID-19 pandemic forced Dairyhäus Ice Cream to shut the shop down. After an entire year of being closed, the ice cream is now being served behind the red door.

Opening day has finally arrived for the most amazing little ice cream shop on Main Street in downtown Rockton, Illinois. Owners of Dairyhäus, like many business owners throughout this pandemic, have really struggled to find ways for their business to survive.

Dairyhaus is fortunate to have a growing list of retailers who carry some of their most popular flavors.

While that revenue stream helped them survive, nothing is quite like the experience of picking out one of the flavors of the day and watching it being scooped into a cone. Then walking outside and eating it just fast enough to keep it from melting onto your hand.

Dairyhäus shared the 12 homemade flavors that will be available on opening day. The list is stacked with many of my family's favorites.

The ice cream shop will be open weekdays from 3:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. and 12 noon - 9:00 p.m. on weekends. In Mid May, Dairyhäus will switch to summer hours of 12 noon - 10:00 p.m. daily.
