Hooters is trying something new next month. Faster service and male waitstaff.

Hooters new restaurant Hoots will open up in the Chicago suburb of Cicero next month. The idea behind the new store is to be more of a fast-casual place like Panera or Chipotle which are taking the restaurant world by storm.

Hoots will feature a pared down one page menu and a co-ed wait staff as well as a separate fully stocked bar. It will run entirely by counter service rather than sit down service. That means you order up front and they'll either call your number or eventually bring it out to you.

I personally see this thing taking off. There really aren't any fast-casual "wing joints" and Hooters definitely have their faithful customers that would go there for a quick bite.

There's also the benefit of it being a bit more family friendly than their traditional stores. Spokeswoman Lizz Harmon says:

One thing customers won't be seeing at Hoots: the iconic Hooters uniform of orange shorts and tight white tank tops that helped earn the chain distinction as a "breastaurant."

Keep your eyes peeled. Hopefully there will be a Hoots coming to a town near you.
