Heavily Traveled Rockford Street Could Be Without Lane For 3 Days

One of Rockford's main roads could be reduced to one lane for nearly three days later this week.

The City Of Rockford's Water Division has announced westbound traffic on Charles Street will be reduced to one lane beginning Thursday. This will allow for repairs to water service in the 2800 block of Charles St.

Work in the area is expected to last one to three business days. The Water Division is encouraging drivers to use alternate routes.
