Gordmans Files For Bankruptcy, Will Close Rockford Area Stores
After weeks of speculation, Gordmans has officially filed for bankruptcy.
The plan is to "liquidate inventory and assets" according to Omaha.com.
Bloomberg.com says "the chain will operate 'as usual without interruption,' Chief Executive Officer Andy Hall said in the statement."
The question most people are wondering, as well as those employed by Gordmans, how long? Well, Mystateline.com reports Gordmans has "not given a time frame for when they will close."
The announcement of the eventual Gordmans closure is another in a long string of recent closures in the Rockford area including many different restaurants and retail outlets.
Is Amazon and online shopping to blame for the announced closures? What do you think is the reason for the recent rash of announced store and restaurant closures?
