The first time I met Steve "Mongo" McMichael, it didn't go so great. He was out to prove a point, and so was I. He was 'Mongo" and wasn't going to back down...I was (obviously) out of my freakin' mind and wasn't going to take his crap. Long story short, we both quickly realized that could have gone REALLY bad, and basically we kissed and made up.

Years later the College Football Hall of Fame member and Superbowl Champion, was very influential in me getting a great side job...and a few years after that I got Mongo paid too...Mutual respect, years of smack talk about how we could kick each others asses, and the kind of relationship that still makes me smile. But lately I am NOT smiling when I think of #76 for the Chicago Bears, my heart breaks for the pain he is going through.

Steve "Mongo" McMichael has ALS, or Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease. Steve was diagnosed back in January and the news recently has been made public. Mongo is paralyzed from the shoulders down, and as you can imagine the medical bills are pretty tremendous. While the Chicago Bears have provided his with a wheelchair that helps him get around, the need for money to help take care of Mongo is needed.

A fundraising goal has ben set at $176,000 and you can make a donation to Steve McMichael by CLICKING HERE. His wife of 20 years, Misty, is his caretaker and any amount of money to help out a man that has helped out so many charities in his life, is appreciated.
