Speeding, most of us are guilty of it at some point, right? We know speeding is dangerous and so is driving too slow, at times. This person, though, they deserve this attention.

As the summer season wraps up in Illinois people will be squeezing in their last-minute road trips. If this is you please remember to travel safely and follow the rules of the road.

SOME OF THE PROBLEMS I'VE WITNESSES RECENTLY

  • Speeding
  • Merging issues
  • Phones in hand
  • Not Follow "Scotts Law"

One driver, whom we can't clarify is from Illinois, recently got busted for traveling at a dangerous speed. Based on the context of the Illinois State Police Facebook account, it seems like they never even notice the patrolling vehicle, which was a motorcycle.

This driver was caught going 42 miles per hour over the posted speed limit.

Regardless of their speed, exceeding any posted limit by that much is dangerous whether it's on a highway, interstate, or street. (Yes, I got 5ish miles over the speed limit often, but 42?!)

The punishment for exceeding 40 miles over the posted speed limit isn't a joke, either. One Illinois law firm says you could get almost a year in jail if prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

If you are caught speeding 40 mph over the limit you could be charged with a Class A Misdemeanor. A Class A Misdemeanor is punishable by up to 364 days in the county jail, fines up to $2,500, probation, conditional discharge, public service work, and/or court supervision up to 24 months.

As you'll see in the photo below, this driver was clocked in at 112 miles per hour!
