Dangerous Counterfeit Pills Are Circulating Northern Illinois
It is not a joke or something to scoff at, there is cause for serious concern in northern Illinois, according to McHenry County law enforcement.
Community Safety Advisory
In a lengthy memo released to the public, the McHenry County Sheriff's Office stressed how dangerous these pills can be. The pills, containing fentanyl and other substances, are stamped with "M 30" and look identical to factory manufactured Percocet. These pills are known as "Perc 30s" or "Blue M30." The pills are dangerous. McHenry County Sheriff's Office believes these pills are responsible for several overdoses and deaths.
If you stumble upon these drugs it is critical to exercise caution and report it to local law enforcement immediately. They advise you to never purchase or ingest any prescription medicine not prescribed to you. And, they're encouraging the public to share this information with family and friends.
You can read their full advisory notice here but, again, be aware of your medications and always check to be sure your prescription medicine has not been tampered with. Not only are there severe risks with these fake pills, but there is also heavy legal punishment for distributing them.
Anyone with information is encouraged to call the McHenry County Sheriff's Office tipline or your local law enforcement.
