Like most people, I love koalas. Unlike most, however, I have good reason to dislike them: while visiting Australia a number of years ago, a koala peed on me.

We were visiting a nature park outside Brisbane that offered the chance to get up close and personal with the animals. After a wildly enjoyable play session with young kangaroos (aka: joeys), it was off to hold and pet an adorable koala.

It started out well enough. The little koala sat in my lap like a cuddly little cartoon character while I petted it and posed for a couple of photos. Then, it began. When I say the koala peed on me, you might be thinking of a few drops, maybe a bit more. Not even close. This tiny creature was apparently 90-95% urine, and 5% fur. I looked like I had been sitting in the front row of a Gallagher show. My companions quickly decided this was the highlight of the trip. Then, they wondered how I was going to get back to the hotel since I was unsuitable at this point to ride with them in the same car.

Even though I had a bad experience with one of them, I'm still a koala lover. That's why I enjoyed and wanted to share with you this remarkable piece of video:

No word on whether this one showed his gratitude by holding his (as I can attest) significant bladder.
