As a big classic rock fan, I'm intrigued by not just the music but also the "behind the scenes" part of the business. And thanks to The Guardian we can picture a bit of the creative process behind some classic album covers.

They've taken a handful of covers taken in public and placed them onto a Google Street View image of the location in the present day. It looks a little cooler than it sounds when explaining it. Check it out.

Here's a couple of the actual album covers featured on the list This first one's easy, of course. The cover of The Beatles' "Abbey Road" was taken outside EMI Studios on, yes, Abbey Road:

The cover of Led Zeppelin's "Physical Graffiti" features two five-story buildings located at 96 and 98 St. Mark's Place in New York City:

And finally, the cover of the Oasis album "(What's the Story) Morning Glory?" is a picture of two men passing each other on Berwick Street in London's Soho:

Head over to The Guardian to see all of these covers (and more) superimposed onto a Google Maps image of the actual location.
