3 Chicago Burbs Land On Top 50 Richest Suburbs In The U.S. List

Before we start naming names here, I should point out that none of the three Chicago suburbs that made this year's list of rankings from GoBankingRates.com made the very top of the list as the single wealthiest suburb in the entire country.

That honor goes to Scarsdale, New York, which has been named the wealthiest suburb in America for the second consecutive year. Here are their numbers, according to this year's GoBankingRate.com study:

Scarsdale, New York

New York takes the top two spots overall, with this NYC burb coming in right behind Scarsdale:

Rye, New York

• May 2025 home value: $1,875,248
• May 2024 home value: $1,796,232

In the number-three spot in the country, it's:

West University Place, Texas

• Suburb of: Houston
• Average household income (2023): $409,677
• Average household income (2022): $417,382
• 2022-2023 one-year income change (%): -1.9%
• May 2025 home value: $982,834
• May 2024 home value: $939,538
• 2024-2025 home value change (%): 4.6%

All three of these Chicago suburbs were on this list last year, and they apparently liked being on it so much that they're back on the list again for 2025. Of the three, only one of these suburbs landed in the top ten, coming in at number-eight in the nation overall:
