Chicago Suburb Named One Of The Worlds’ Top Travel Destinations

A new study about the world's top travel destinations for 2025 has included an Illinois city and Chicago suburb, putting it at #48 on the top 50 list.

This is not a knock on our state, but when you're thinking of the top travel destinations in the whole world, I can understand where Chicago would make the list, but it doesn't. Instead, a Chicago suburb, a very close one at that, lands in the top 50.

I quizzed a bunch of coworkers about this earlier this morning, and not a single one of them could come up with the correct answer as to which suburb could be regarded as a must-see by people from all over the world.

When I told them the name of the suburb, several reacted by saying "Yeah. I guess it's pretty cool, but why not Chicago?"

According to a study by TravelLemming.com, Chicago suburb Oak Park is number 48 on their list of the 50 Best Places To Travel In 2025.
