A Chicago dispatcher made a call Sunday morning for Canine Rachel one more time before the 11-year old city employee was put down due to a sudden outbreak of cancer in her spine.

Rachel had protected the president, first lady, and foreign dignitaries. Rode buses and trains with her handler Officer Charles Kocanda. And had worked for Chicago for ten years sniffing out bombs all over the city.

For the full experience go to the story on the Chicago Tribune's website (I can't for the life of me figure out how to embed the player.) But be warned, if you have a heart you will cry.

Now if you'll excuse me I'm going home to hug my dogs. Dogs are the best.
