Authorities Investigating Body Found in Rock River
ROCKFORD, Ill. (AP) — Authorities say they're trying to recover the body of a man found in the Rock River near the Chicago Rockford International Airport.
Winnebago County Sheriff's Department public information officer Ken DeCoster told the Rockford Register Star on Saturday afternoon that a group of people watching the AirFest air show from a boat on the river spotted the body.
The Winnebago County Coroner's Office says an autopsy is scheduled for Monday.
No further information was immediately available.
