Maybe I'm biased. We have two dogs and two cats who allow us to share their living space, and our (human) lives have been made immeasurably better by their presence.

You can read article after article that will describe in detail how having a pet affects us in a myriad of positive ways. Petting and snuggling up with your pet has been shown to lower stress, blood pressure, and overall tension.

Cat owners have been wired up to different gizmos that have shown that just hearing a cat's purr will release endorphins into your system that contribute to a sense of well-being.

Dog owners have had similar testing with similar results, minus the purring part. And, of course, dogs have long been known as "man's best friend."

The above video shows that we humans are not their only best friends, they also have a tendency to look after each other.

The dog on the couch is Jackson, a 1 year old Double Doodle (half Labradoodle, half Goldendoodle), and he's having a bad dream. The dog who comes to his rescue is Laika, a year and a half old Goldendoodle.

I don't know, maybe he's dreaming about being made fun of for being called a Double Doodle. It beats being named Mr. Barky Von Schnauzer.
