• A former pastor of Faith Center Church in Rockford was sentenced in Federal Court today on charges of creating false banking instruments.  55-year old Bradley Hampton was ordered to serve 12 months and one day in prison, 3 years supervised probation and to pay $76,000 in restitution.  Hampton was convicted of creating money orders on the church’s computer, using a Federal Reserve code as a routing number, and spending the money on personal items.  Hampton reportedly stole more than half-a-million dollars from the Federal Reserve to spend on his mortgage, credit cards, car loans and other items.
  • A Poplar Grove woman is charged after a car and motorcycle accident on Perryville Road last night. 33-year old Nicole Robinson faces charges of Aggravated DUI and speeding. Police say Robinson’s car rear-ended a motorcycle driven by 41-year old Elzajat Jakupi of Rockford shortly after midnight at North Perryville and Crimson Ridge Drive.  Jakupi was thrown from the motorcycle and is hospitalized with serious injuries.
  • The DeKalb County Board will vote on rezoning the tornado-ravaged community of Fairdale on July First.  That will be the first step in allowing the victims of the April 9th tornado to begin rebuilding their community.   Rezoning would ease restrictions of residents decide to rebuild.  Many of the damaged or destroyed homes were built before county zoning was established in 1948.
  • 39-year old Robert Rossi of Machesney Park is under arrest, charged with possessing and reproducing child pornography.  He was arrested Wednesday. He's charged with two counts of reproduction of child pornography and two counts of possession of child pornography. His bond is set at $750,000.  Rossi’s arrest was the result of an investigation of the Illinois Attorney General’s office with the assistance of the Winnebago County Sheriff's Office.
  • A Boone County man is sentenced to 22 years in prison following his conviction of sexual assault charges.  49-year old Christopher Keithley of Poplar Grove was found guilty of two counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child and a single count of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a child.
