30 years ago Live Aid was held in London and Philadelphia. And WROK's Dave Alpert was there.

In case you're unaware or have forgotten, Live Aid was a dual-venue concert held on July 13, 1985. The event was put together to raise funds for relief of the ongoing Ethiopian famine and was held simultaneously at Wembley Stadium in London and John F. Kennedy Stadium in Philadelphia. An estimated global audience of 1.9 billion, across 150 nations, watched the live broadcast.

Acts performing in Philadelphia included Tom Petty, Duran Duran, Phil Collins, Bob Dylan, and more.
