West Carroll coming off 10-8 loss on a late Dakota field goal bounced back Friday.

West Carroll, 5-2 again played stingy defense and beat Eastland/Pearl City 26-7. E/PC is also now 5-2. The game played in Pearl City was spirited as the teams had a little meeting at midfield prior to the game. Then after a power outage the game finally continued.

In other Northwest games, Dakota had a 47-6 rout of Amboy. Lena-Winslow the top-ranked team in the state rolled on at 7-0 beating Mooseheart 54-7 in a nonconference game that was called early because of lightning. Mooseheart had an open date and replaced Warren who took a forfeit rather than play Lena-Winslow low on numbers.

East Dubuque snuck by Durand/Pecatonica 14-6. It was the second straight week that the Du/Pec came close to winning their first game as a Coop. They lost a close game the week before to Madison.

In the Upstate Stockton whipped Polo 49-21. Milledgeville shutout Ashton/Franklin Center 26-0. And Aquin defeated River Ridge 40-20.

In Saturday's non-conference game Orangeville improved their playoff outlook beating Kirkland Hiawatha 55-24. The Broncos Austin Guy was moved from quarterback to running back and responded scoring on seven TD runs. Carter Kleckler took over at quarterback and threw one touchdown pass.

Lena-Winslow had already clinched a playoff berth. Now Dakota, Forreston, Milledgeville, and Aquin have secured a playoff spot with their sixth win.

West Carroll and Stockton are both playoff eligible now with five wins with two weeks to play.
