The "jumping worm," aka the "crazy worm," aka the "snake worm" has spread to almost half of Illinois counties, including Winnebago, Dekalb, Jo Daviess, and Stephenson.
This may be the first time that I've ever written the words "kill it immediately" for publication. However, this is also the first time that I've seen bug experts (or, entomologists, to be precise) also saying "kill it immediately," so there's that.
By "these guys" I mean the much hated, highly dreaded, invasive fish known as the "Asian Carp." Michigan's Department of Natural Resources has a million dollars bounty waiting for the person or persons who come up with a way to keep the Great Lakes free of them.
We've all heard the tired old adage about there being only two seasons in Illinois; winter and road construction. Well, go ahead an add another one: Skarping Season. First, you'll need an invasive species like...oh, I don't know...let's go with the Asian carp. Then, you'll need a few boats, some sports equipment, and maybe a few hundred beers.
Over the last few weeks, I've posted a series of things on our great state of Illinois. The problem is, most of the things I've posted don't take a real positive view of the Land of Lincoln. Worst place to raise kids, biggest job losses, the state with the most residents eager to leave, etc, etc...
