Many Illinois residents have been waiting a long time for concealed carry to become a reality.  Now that the law is in place, State Rep. Joe Sosnowski is doing what he can to assist those who wish to apply for a permit:

“Currently individuals in Illinois can start applying for concealed carry only through the State Police website; however, the agency will not begin accepting paper applications until July 1,” explains Sosnowski. “To better assist my constituents with navigating the online application process, I have decided to make my district office available by appointment to those looking to register.”

If you know of someone who wants to apply for a concealed carry permit, but lacks internet access, Sosnowski says he or she can call (815) 547-3436 to set up an appointment.  His office is located at 305 Amphitheater Drive in Rockford.

Meanwhile, the Illinois State Police's Concealed Carry website will continue to regularly update its Concealed Carry FAQ’s  with information regarding the process.
