Looking for a fun family activity? This is it! Get up early and help local bird expert Dan Williams search and listen for native birds in the quiet atmosphere. He will lead a family-friendly walk to identify the many birds making the arboretum their home. Visitors can help listen for the distinct sounds and learn the songs and calls of native birds such as an owl, cedar waxwing or black-capped chickadee singing. Dan will help everyone recognize the birds singing and, on the way, don’t forget to watch for animals and lots of tracks in the snow (if there is snow!). Come dressed for the weather and warm up with hot chocolate afterward. Stay and make a bird feeder to attract some of those birds just identified on the walk! All ages are welcome at this event.
