Members of the Rockford Amateur Radio Association will be participating in the national Amateur Radio Field Day exercise, June 27 – 28 at Alpine Park, Shelter One. A special forum will begin the event at 10 a.m., to honor the veterans of the association, who served in World War II, Korea, and through Vietnam. Since 1933, ham radio operators across North America have established temporary ham radio stations in public locations during Field Day to showcase the science and skill of Amateur Radio. This event is open to the public and all are encouraged to attend between 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on June 27.
