It's often said your odds of being struck by lightning are better than winning the lottery. But now we know the odds of having BOTH happen in a lifetime.

Peter McCathie of Canada survived being hit by lightning when he was a teenager and now he's won a $1 million prize in the lottery. Experts say the chance of both events happening to one person are about a 1 in 2.6 trillion.

If that's not enough, McCathie will receive a $10,000 bonus since he owns the store where the winning ticket was purchased.

McCathie and Miller had been buying lottery tickets for about a year, but never imagined they would defy the odds.

“I honestly expected to get hit by lightning again first,” he told CTV.

Why would you keep playing the lottery if you "never imagined" you would win? With that attitude save your money! I'd love to hear someone say, "Yep, I always knew one day my numbers would come in. It was just a matter of time."
