Advertising is everywhere. Radio, TV, print, billboards, online, etc. How many ads do you think the average person sees every day?

One thing that can't be disputed is that companies spend big money on their logos. Laura Stampler at Business Insider has a great piece on how much some of the world's most famous companies spent on their respective logos (wait until you see the difference between Coke and Pepsi!).

Apparently, there are several keys to a good logo. First, it must be pleasing to the eye and memorable. It should be easy to recognize, even from a distance, and it must have a cool hidden picture in it.
