When I first read about this, I have to admit, I thought it was some sort of internet hoax. Well, according to several published reports, it's not. A guy actually plans to be swallowed alive by a giant anaconda.

From the Daily Telegraph:

Paul Rosolie, 26, who describes himself as "Indiana Jones with a green twist", will wear a specially-designed "snake-proof" suit, although seeing as the show, called Eaten Alive, demands he be consumed by the snake, that description doesn't seem entirely appropriate.

A trailer for the stunt, which airs on Sunday, December 7th, on the Discovery Channel, shows Rosolie and his team apparently tracking down a snake of unusual size.

At least seven people are seen to carry the anaconda, the largest snake species in the world, before Rosolie changes into his suit, which includes breathing apparatus, and a thick rope secured to his ankle.

"We're going to make me as appealing as possible so the snake just says, 'Well, I got this big thing here, I may as well eat it,'" he says, before kneeling next to the anaconda.

Just in case you thought post-election night fatigue has me imagining things, take a look at this:

It'll make a great updated version of Alka-Seltzer's classic "I can't believe I ate the whole thing" commercial.
