• Janesville Police are searching for a man who fled authorities during a drug stop 27-year old Shay Dooley reportedly initiated a vehicle pursuit which was halted because of public safety concerns. The suspect reportedly crashed later and is now on foot. Anyone with information is asked to call the Janesville Police.
  • A Rockford Elementary school has closed today due to a water leak. Bloom Elementary made the decision after school started and parents were asked to pick up their children from school. Students who typically ride the bus were taken home if a parent or guardian was present.
  • Former Dixon comptroller Rita Crundwell is getting an extra month to make a court filing on her retirement funds. A judge is giving Crundwell until December 5th to respond to prosecutors who say she should have to forfeit about $90,000 in retirement money. Crundwell is in prison for stealing $54 million.
  • The first phase of the long-term construction project on I-90 between Rockford and O’Hare is completed. Three lanes are slated to open in each direction near Belvidere on the segment between Rockford and Elgin. Construction barrels will be removed and new lanes will open to drivers in a ribbon cutting ceremony.
  • The pace of the Illinois harvest has picked up in the last week thanks to warmer and drier weather. The government says farmers have harvested about 60 percent of their corn and about two-thirds of their soybeans.
  • Amazon says it plans to open its first facility in Illinois next year in a move that would create 1,000 jobs. The company made the announcement about the $75 million project on Tuesday. Amazon officials say Illinois has an "excellent workforce" and the company is "excited" to find the right locations in the state.
  • Wisconsin dairy farmers had another record-setting month of milk production in September. The National Agriculture Statistics Service reports Wisconsin milk production last month increased 70 million pounds from the previous September's record-setting total of 2.29 billion pounds. September also was the fifth straight month that Wisconsin dairy farmers set a record for milk production.
  • Illinois is spending $1.3 million to help fund work on a long-planned facility that would link rail, highway, water, and air transportation to move goods. Officials say the money will be used for planning and design work on the estimated $80 million public-private partnership in Quincy, Illinois.
  • The Illinois Supreme Court has selected a Stateline judge to lead group. 17th Judicial Circuit Court Chief Judge Joseph McGraw has been named the new Chairman of the Conference of Chief Judges. McGraw currently serves on a committee for the Chief Judges.
