• Loves Park Police have released surveillance  footage of two men wanted in connection with a robbery. It happened in the 1700 block of east Riverside Blvd on September 21st. Officials say the suspects filled their shopping baskets with items and then ran out of the store. They drove off in a blue Chevrolet Cavalier with Illinois license plate number V685754. Anyone with information is urged to call the Loves Park Police.
  • An Illinois man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for a hit-and-run that killed two motorcyclists in Janesville. Authorities say 24-year-old Sambath Pal of Park City was driving an SUV that crossed the center line on Highway 14 last April. The crash killed 24-year-old Mitchell Vance and 18-year-old Devin Julius.
  • Police have identified the man who died in the fatal crash that shut down I-39 yesterday afternoon. 65-year old Joseph Weingart of Lake Villa was heading northbound on the interstate when his vehicle crossed the center median hitting a truck head-on. Officials are still investigating what might have caused the crash.
  • State officials have released a list applicants who want to open medical marijuana dispensaries. There are a total of six applicants in the Boone, Jo Daviess, Stephenson, and Winnebago county region. Also, there are a total of four applicants in the Ogle, Whiteside, Lee, and Carroll county region.  The state plans to award up to 60 dispensary licenses. Some districts will get more than one license.
  • Stormy weather across the middle of the country is making the travel problems worse at Chicago's two airports. At least 750 more flights have been cancelled at O'Hare and Midway. Technicians are still repairing an air traffic control center in Aurora, where an employee started a fire last week.
  • New data shows the number of workplace deaths is declining in Wisconsin. Ninety-six people died in work-related incidents in 2013, down from 114 deaths the year before. The Journal Sentinel reports the greatest number of occupational facilities occurred in transportation last year.
