I've been asked before why I write about scams in the Rockford area so often. Usually the question begins with something like "We don't really have that many scams going on in the Rockford area, do we?"

These scams can and do catch all ages, but they're targeted heavily toward people over the age of 65.

The Rockford Regional Office of the Better Business Bureau (BBB) is warning consumers that over 90% of reports into the BBB Scamtracker in April were COVID-19 related or fake online sites.
