Let's get started by asking you to think about yourself for a moment. Do you have any phobias? Up until this morning, I figured the percentage of Americans with phobia had to be around 50 percent...but it turns out I was way off on my guess.

That fear, or phobia if you prefer, is the fear of heights, or acrophobia. I've had it as long as I can remember, and I'm sorry to report that it has grown worse over the years, not better. That's what makes living in Rockford perfect for me. There's nothing really high up to worry about.

I've often thought the most dangerous place to be in my home is anywhere near my daughter Molly should there happen to be a spider near by. The spider could have enough venom to kill a dozen men and a circus elephant, yet you'd still wind up being trampled to death by my retreating offspring...
