Illinois food recalls

Over the last few months, many of the food recalls we've seen were because of worries about listeria contamination--this recall is contamination-related, but not by listeria, salmonella, or E. Coli.

Literally millions of eggs, sold at Walmart and other stores in Illinois and eight other states, are being recalled because of a salmonella outbreak that has made dozens of people sick across the country. Here's what to look for.

There are actually not one, but two different recalls on vine-ripened tomatoes happening in the United States at the exact same time for the same reason: salmonella. One covers 11 states, including Illinois, and the other recall is for residents of Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina.
