The Illinois Department of Public Health has a warning for you.

Illinois health officials have been joined by the Chicago and Northern Illinois Better Business Bureau (BBB) in warning Illinois residents to choose their testing site carefully.

At this writing, there are 5 states and a couple of territories that continue to observe a mask mandate. Based on comments made by Illinois Department of Public Health Director Dr. Ngozi Ezike, Illinois will be keeping our mask mandate up to and beyond Thanksgiving.

Depending on what kind of fishing you do, this news will mean you can brush up on your favorite fish recipes, or just continue to throw the fish back where you found them.

If you guessed "the two-legged kind," you would technically be correct. We humans pose a lot more danger to each other than animals do, but we're talking about four legs (mostly), fur (sometimes), and fangs here.

I'm not really quick to agree with Governor Pritzker on much of anything, but it would seem that he was correct on Wednesday when he declared that "the days of vaccine scarcity are over" here in Illinois.

Unless something gets changed over the next few hours, our region will automatically begin "enhanced mitigation restrictions" on Saturday due to our COVID-19 positivity rates.

For all those who love everything to do with Halloween, the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) says trick-or-treating will be allowed but there are restrictions to keep in mind.

As if dealing with this COVID-19 pandemic mess hasn't been challenging enough, let's add in the fact that we're approaching flu season.
