Illinois closings

Another day, another announcement from a company that they're going to be closing multiple locations before the end of the year. Which burger chain is this one? Here's a clue: the word "yum" is in their jingle.

After filing for bankruptcy a little over a month ago, this home improvement company has decided to close over 200 stores across the nation. They plan on having the closings completed within about 3 months.

We've been seeing this sort of thing happen over the last several months. A business announces that there will be a certain number of closings to keep the company afloat, then a short while later makes the decision to close even more locations than they had originally said they would.

This long-established brand already closed 57 spots last year, after shuttering 60 restaurants in 2022. However, it seems that more work needs to be done because they're now looking at closing at least 15 more to keep themselves afloat.

In Illinois, we've witnessed several store and restaurant chains close multiple locations this year, and, based on a recent announcement, the people with the neon cowboy hat who always make sure you know who has the meat, may be shutting down several Illinois locations in the near future.
