Saturday, November 3rd, is National Sandwich Day. A day set aside to...uh...eat sandwiches, I guess. What sandwich do we Illinoisans prefer over all others?
One of these pictured candies is Illinois' new favorite Halloween candy. We'll eat about 32,000 pounds more of this than last year's favorite. Guesses?
I've only lived outside the state of Illinois for a grand total of about 6 months. In 1985, I went to work for a radio station in Columbus, Ohio, which was a great town to live in with one possible downside--when you left Columbus, you were in Ohio.
If you tuned into the Super Bowl last night, you were one of approximately 118,000,000 people. If you tuned into the Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet at any time yesterday, you were one of approximately 7,000,000 people. Not even close, in terms of viewers--but enough to make the Puppy Bowl the #1 rated cable show of the night.
This Thursday morning at 9:00, I'm heading over to Anderson Japanese Gardens to read to a group of kids attending Anderson's "Garden Explorers" program. Like many of you, I look forward to visiting the beautiful grounds of AJG whenever I can.
Being big movie fans, Scot and I spend some time on our show discussing films (primarily the classics, like Die Hard, Caddyshack, Stripes, etc.). Hat tip to our pal Steve Shannon who gave me the heads-up on the map featured above.
