Daylight Saving Time

Well, the newer, higher-tech clocks will. The old ones still require a manual change.

If Illinois State Senator Andy Manar gets his wish, people in Illinois would move their clocks ahead one hour this coming spring, then never have to change them again.

Daylight Saving Time (DST) was first enacted by the federal government March 19, 1918, during World War I, as a way to conserve coal.

Senate Bill 533, introduced by state Senator Andy Manar (D-Bunker Hill), would make Daylight Saving Time the year-round standard time of the entire state starting on the second Sunday of March 2020.

I know, most of our timepieces will make the switch automatically, but there's always at least one clock that requires the "old school" treatment.

It's almost time to do that thing that so many people just hate--adjust the clock as Daylight Saving Time comes to an end.

Daylight Saving Time (DST) has been with us here in America since 1918, but a growing percentage of us would like to see it dumped.
